Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering to define and develop data products for drug discovery and preclinical research.
- Gather and prioritize product requirements with scientific stakeholders; define/ refine the product backlog and user stories.
- Serve as user expert and customer champion; write problem statements and facilitate solution design.
- Justify improvements to existing products; analyze data/observations to inform strategy.
- Act as Product Owner on Agile teams; accept user stories against acceptance criteria.
- Plan/design testing; compile training/communication content for scientific end-users.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s in Life Sciences/Biomed Eng/Chemical Eng/CS or related field.
- 2+ years building tools or data assets for scientific/data analytics workflows.
- 3+ years working with scientific users (e.g., chemists) to define data product requirements.
- Data analytics/science experience in scientific context; ERDs/logical data models/source-target mappings.
- Hands-on data management services (e.g., AWS Athena, Glue, S3, Redshift) and strong SQL.
- Ability to translate scientific/business problems into actionable requirements; strong analytical and communication skills; independent and multi-project management.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree; pharma drug discovery and pre-clinical development experience.
- Cheminformatics/lab data/workflow knowledge (Pipeline Pilot, RDKit, OpenEye), drug discovery endpoints (potency, selectivity, ADMET, lead optimization), ML platforms, Agile, and cloud-based scientific data platforms.
