Sr. Scientist (Process Development) β Drug Product Development & Technology (DPDT)
Responsibilities:
- Lead drug product (DP) process development activities across different unit operations for multiple programs.
- Support implementation of cross-scale models to bridge lab and manufacturing for an expanding pipeline of new modalities.
- Characterize unit operations to enable seamless technology transfer to manufacturing sites.
- Help set up in-house DP process development capabilities, including lab layout, tools/equipment procurement, equipment installation/operation, and collaboration with formulation development, manufacturing, and facility management teams.
- Independently design, execute, and document formulation and fill/finish development studies; assess impact of process parameters on product quality attributes.
- Write internal/external publications (e.g., peer-reviewed papers, patents, business plans) with minimal revisions.
- Author/review guidelines, protocols, reports, regulatory sections, and risk assessments to support technology transfer.
- Present at group/department/cross-functional meetings; serve as a process lead in drug development team meetings.
- Identify and assess existing/new technologies to improve process development capabilities.
Must-haves (Qualifications):
- Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Pharmaceutics/Chemical/Biomedical Engineering (or related) with 0β3 years; or MS with 8+ years; or BS with 10+ years.
- Teamwork and ability to adapt to changing project direction.
- Strong publication record with statistical-based analysis.
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred/Nice-to-haves:
- Biologics DP formulation/process development and characterization.
- Analytical instrument capability for protein therapeutics.
- Experience supporting GMP manufacturing, quality, and regulatory functions.
- Hands-on DP unit operations experience.
- Experience developing/implementing small-scale models.
