Responsibilities:
- Provide automation design and oversight for the Lilly Lebanon LP2 facility.
- Collaborate with system integrators to deliver all aspects of automation.
- Support life cycle management, Engineering information management, and cyber security.
- Drive automation governance and replication of Tier 1 equipment, architecture, and Automation/IT systems and solutions.
- Ensure safe design and operation of new equipment; ensure automation design reflects safety concerns for operations and maintenance.
Automation Design:
- Design and implement automation strategies compliant with cGMP batch manufacturing requirements.
- Generate/update Design SDLC documentation.
Automation/Control Discipline:
- Support and enhance automated systems and equipment, including PID control parameter adjustments.
- Perform solution assessments and performance reviews to verify efficient operation.
- Support solution assessment, replication, and development.
- Manage tools; implement engineering standards, master specifications, and best practices.
- Provide technical coaching and facilitate shared learning.
- Support project execution and integration of new equipment/technologies.
- Support automated system commissioning and qualifications.
- Evaluate technology trends for application at Lilly.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years in automation or process control.
Preferred Skills:
- Rockwell Automation; OSI/PI Historian.
- Rockwell Automation (FactoryTalk View SCADA, ControlLogix PLCs).
- Drug product and/or drug substance manufacturing process knowledge (formulation, filling, large/small molecule; batch).
- Plant utilities (purified water, clean steam, process air, recovery/environmental systems).
- Building management systems (HVAC) and qualified monitoring.
- ISE S95 principles; IT/automation integration.
- GMP/pharmaceutical experience; OSI/PI data historians; Microsoft OS/virtual environments/networking.
- Effective communication with internal customers and leadership.
- Automation project delivery for major capital; technical leadership.
Additional Information:
- Onsite role in Lebanon, IN (relocation required); some flexibility for work from home.
- Travel: up to 10β20% (including OUS).
