Role Summary
The Senior Operations Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the plasma donor center, overseeing donor floor activities, supervising staff, and supporting compliance with regulatory and quality standards. As a senior frontline leader, this role acts as a lead resource during shifts, ensures execution of operational priorities, and provides direct support to the Center Manager to drive performance, donor satisfaction, and continuous improvement. Location: St. Petersburg, FL, USA.
Responsibilities
- Act as leader in the Center Manager’s absence and perform tasks across the plasma center as needed to maintain operations.
- Provide shift leadership for donor operations, including staffing, task assignments, break schedules, and coaching.
- Create staff schedules to accommodate donor cycles.
- Maintain inventory levels and submit orders to vendors to meet center needs.
- Inform the Center Manager of irregularities and implement corrective actions.
- Execute daily operational plans to achieve targets for donor throughput, quality, and productivity.
- Partner with the Center Manager and Quality team to identify and resolve deviations in real time.
- Monitor donor flow and promptly address delays or service issues to ensure a positive donor experience.
- Maintain familiarity with applicable regulations, SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal procedures.
- Supervise donor selection and plasma collection while ensuring records meet regulatory standards.
- Attend required trainings and meetings; ensure accurate documentation of records.
- Help keep the facility clean and equipment in good working order under the Center Manager’s guidance.
- Submit timely reports as required; assist in management of center funds.
- Participate in onboarding, training, and cross-training to support center agility and performance.
- Maintain open communication with other service areas to ensure quality documentation.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability; report unsafe conditions promptly.
- May be trained to repair plasma center equipment.
- Assist the Center Manager with any tasks needed to achieve company objectives.
Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires 6 years of related experience in phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing with demonstrated proficiency to handle difficult situations.
- Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level typically requires an Associate’s degree plus 2 years of experience, an equivalent could include 4 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree.

Education
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certifications: Phlebotomist, Donor Center Technician, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer.
- CPR Certification.
Additional Requirements
- Work is performed in a plasma center; exposure to biological fluids and potential infectious organisms; exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment; exposure to extreme cold in plasma freezers.
- Personal protective equipment provided (gloves, protective eyewear, garments, cold gear).
- Physical demands include standing 4–6 hours per day and sitting 1–2 hours per day; bending and twisting; frequent hand movements; ability to handle occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Vision and hearing requirements; ability to communicate effectively; ability to work independently within guidance; adapt to changing workload.
