Your Role: Sr. Manufacturing Automation Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver complex automation and control system projects supporting manufacturing operations, regulatory compliance, product supply, capacity expansion, and cost optimization.
- Serve as site subject matter expert for control systems, data historians, dashboard development, alarming strategies, and automation lifecycle management.
- Support selection, design, validation, implementation, and continuous improvement of automation solutions while balancing business, technical, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership for project planning/execution, including resource coordination, contractor oversight, budget management, scheduling, risk mitigation, and delivery.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Technical Services to troubleshoot production issues, analyze data, resolve technical challenges, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Evaluate/implement new technologies; develop standards and design specifications; identify automation opportunities to improve productivity and performance.
- Develop, train, mentor, and influence site personnel on control system best practices, compliance requirements, and effective use of automation systems, data, and tools.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorβs in Engineering (Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Control Systems, or related).
- Required Experience: Minimum 5 years in automation engineering.
- Required Skills: PLC, HMI, vision system programming, control system alarming, Aveva PI/OSI PI (or similar), project leadership/organizational skills; communication/collaboration; WIN911 (or similar alarm notification/escalation).
- Preferred: Regulated manufacturing experience; Rockwell and Siemens PLCs; independent work in fast-paced environments; Lean/continuous improvement; experience supporting 24-hour operations.
Additional Information:
- Location: Elwood, KS; Schedule: MonβFri days with occasional evenings/weekends; Minimal travel; Backup 24-hour on-call support as business needs require.
