Sr. Manager, Supplier Strategy and Management, Biologics (based in Foster City, CA)
Essential Functions
- Serve as primary POC for business discussions, long-range supply/capacity planning, and business development.
- Manage supplier performance (daily/monthly/annually) and day-to-day execution; escalate and resolve supplier issues with internal/external manufacturing sites.
- Escalation for recurrent/chronic supplier performance issues.
- Lead annual business review meetings; assess and mitigate supplier risks.
- Prepare/review/challenge/track RFPs/RFQs/RFIs; consult with Manufacturing Operations, Technical Development, Quality Assurance, Analytical Operations.
- Under direction, negotiate Confidentiality Agreements, Master Services Agreements, and Work Orders.
- Identify/manage strategic biologics direct-material suppliers aligned to network supply chain and CMT strategies; support make-vs.-buy analysis.
- Lead/participate in Operational Excellence projects; coordinate supplier meetings and publish minutes.
- Provide leadership/training; develop budgets and report accruals to Finance if needed.
- Support product needs from development through commercialization; lead/support site assessment teams (SATs).
- Establish quality/technical execution expectations; collaborate with stakeholders; support global supplier meetings.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years with BS/BA OR 6+ years with MS/MA or MBA.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- 8+ years in pharma/biotech/manufacturing; CMC development understanding.
- GMP/regulatory knowledge (21CFR parts 11, 210, 211, 820); ERP/project management tools.
- Cross-functional and people leadership; negotiate contracts; strong written/verbal communication.
- Organizational/time management; present complex issues to senior leaders; work under uncertainty.
- Up to 20% domestic/international travel.
Compensation/Benefits (if applicable)
- Salary range: $157,590.00β$203,940.00; may be eligible for discretionary bonus, long-term incentives, paid time off; medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
