Job Description
Senior IT Business Analyst - Medical Affairs to enable Gilead’s business strategies and operations by leading evaluation, analysis, and planning of technology, processes, and related business needs.

Responsibilities:
- Lead business requirements gathering and needs analysis for global Medical Affairs functions
- Partner with stakeholders to develop and maintain technology roadmaps and demand plans aligned to priorities
- Drive business case development, prioritization, and resource planning
- Analyze current processes and systems; recommend improvements based on business needs and industry trends
- Act as IT Product Owner/Manager for Medical Affairs solutions
- Manage vendor deliverables; develop and maintain current/future state process flows, requirements, and use cases
- Collaborate with engineering teams on functional/solution requirements
- Support RFPs, vendor evaluations, contract readiness, and compliance assessments (Security, GxP)
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions; define/oversee testing (UAT) and issue resolution
- Support deployment, communications, training, and change management; conduct post-implementation value realization reviews
- Manage enhancements, defect resolution, and continuous improvement; ensure regulatory/quality/compliance standards
- Coordinate internal teams/external partners; provide operational and sustainment leadership and issue resolution

Minimum Required Education and Years of Experience:
- High School + 12 years OR Associate + 10 years OR Bachelor’s + 8 years OR Master’s + 6 years OR Ph.D.

Preferred Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science or related; strong enterprise IT experience
- Business systems analysis/planning/budgeting/resource coordination; Medical Affairs domain experience
- Commercial domain experience (preferred)
- Business process engineering, product management, and project delivery
- Integrations, cloud platforms, and digital transformation (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills / Core Capabilities:
- Medical Affairs domain (e.g., Medical Information, Publications, Field Medical, Grants, Studies)
- Manage global stakeholders; platforms incl. Veeva MedComms, iEnvision, Appian, AWS, Azure
- GxP, validation, 21 CFR Part 11; AI/ML experience (e.g., AWS SageMaker)
- Agile, SDLC, DevOps/CI-CD, automation, release governance; enterprise architecture/integrations/system design
- IT security, risk, and compliance; strong leadership/influencing, analytical/problem-solving/communication

- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to operate in a global, fast-paced, matrixed environment
- Travel as needed
