Senior Manager Facilities
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of site facilities operations, including management of facilities personnel, critical facilities programs, and Integrated Service Providers (ISPs).
- Ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient facility infrastructure and services supporting commercial manufacturing.
- Own site facilities operations and facility-related compliance programs; serve as primary owner for ISP performance.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, EHSS, Supply Chain, and other functions to meet business needs while maintaining inspection readiness.
- Drive operational excellence, contractor performance, compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across the site.
- Provide daily facilities leadership and maintain facility infrastructure and support systems.
- Oversee critical programs: janitorial, pest control, grounds maintenance, waste management, general building services.
- Establish lifecycle management strategies; perform routine facility inspections; initiate corrective actions and work orders.
- Ensure facilities operations and service providers comply with cGMP, company policies, EHSS standards, and regulatory expectations; support audits and inspections.
- Ensure documentation, training records, contractor qualifications, and program records meet quality/compliance requirements.
- Manage ISPs (e.g., Integrated Facilities Management, Compass, MRO), ensuring scope-of-work execution and service level agreements; provide escalation and change management for service/scope modifications.
- Serve as customer advocate/single point of accountability; resolve escalated issues.
- Manage financial targets and operational objectives; monitor performance, costs, and resource utilization; drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Basic
- Doctorate + 2 years OR Master’s + 6 OR Bachelor’s + 8 OR Associate’s + 10 OR High school/GED + 12 in Facilities/Engineering/Operations/Maintenance (or related).
- Minimum 2 years directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams/projects/programs/resource allocation (may run concurrently).
Preferred
- Facilities leadership in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device or other regulated manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of facility infrastructure/building systems/support services.
- cGMP and facility compliance program understanding.
- Experience managing outsourced facility services and vendor/contractor SLAs.
- Proven inspection readiness and support of regulatory inspections/audits.
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, conflict resolution, stakeholder management, influence, and organizational skills.
