Role Overview
The Sr. Manager, Data Governance is responsible for establishing and maintaining an enterprise data governance framework to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and regulatory compliance across business units. Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and processes for trusted data assets and adherence to regulations (e.g., GxP, SOX, NIS2, GDPR).

Key Responsibilities
- Establish governance policies/standards/procedures aligned to regulations (GDPR, ROPA, CCPA, HIPAA, GxP) and define roles/stewardship processes.
- Set metrics and controls for data accuracy, consistency, completeness; lead integrity issue resolution.
- Maintain data catalogs/dictionaries; use tools (e.g., OneTrust) for metadata documentation and lineage tracking.
- Enforce privacy and security regulations via audits and controls.
- Partner with IT to implement access, encryption, and DLP policies across Azure/AWS; use Microsoft Purview for automated compliance monitoring.
- Define standards, resolve governance issues, and drive adoption.
- Deliver data literacy/stewardship programs.
- Monitor governance KPIs and report to leadership; drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee data demand intake and catalog/inventory processes; support execution of the system IT data strategy.

Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Information Management/CS/Data Science/Business Admin or related); Master’s/MBA preferred.
- 5+ years in data governance/management; 5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech or other highly regulated industries strongly preferred.
- Experience with life-science regulatory requirements (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, SOX, GDPR/CCPA).
- Hands-on governance/privacy tools (OneTrust or similar); data catalog/metadata tools (e.g., Collibra) preferred.
- Cloud data management: Azure and AWS.
- Microsoft 365 E5 compliance knowledge (Purview, DLP, information protection labeling, eDiscovery, audit logging).
- Data architecture/integration experience; SQL proficiency; relational and non-relational DB knowledge.
- Fluency in English.

- Base pay range: $168,372–$220,988 USD; performance bonus and/or equity available in eligible roles.
