Position Summary:
Lead cold chain logistics activities across the U.S. supply network to deliver products safely and on time. Partner with supply, quality, external carriers, and commercial teams to design, improve, and execute temperature-controlled transport solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end cold chain shipments (planning to carrier execution and delivery confirmation); manage/evaluate temperature-controlled carriers/providers.
- Build operational metrics, reports, and dashboards; investigate/resolve temperature excursions and shipment failures with quality/ops.
- Drive process improvements and SOPs to enhance reliability, speed, and cost-efficiency; support cross-functional projects (equipment selection/qualification).
- Oversee 3PL warehouse partner activities for cold chain operations (receiving, shipping, order transfers, cycle counting, IWTs) while meeting Quality/Safety standards.
- Oversee external cold storage partner logistics (transaction/dispatch management for movements to/from Zebulon Site) with auditable documentation.
- Ensure GDP/ALCOA++ compliance for cold storage requirements (temperature monitoring logs for receipt, intra-site moves, outbound shipments).
- Support internal/external audits; document and train partners on cold chain storage/transport requirements.
- Manage warehouse capacity and inventory accuracy (physical and systemic checks).
- Drive continuous improvement for site operational processes and data management; interface with central cold chain support.
- Provide/earn Orange Belt support for logistics deviations via DMAIC.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (supply chain, logistics, engineering, life sciences or related) or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in logistics/supply chain/cold chain operations.
- Experience managing temperature-controlled transportation/packaging.
- Strong Excel and reporting/BI skills; experience with carriers and 3PLs.
- Clear written/verbal communication and cross-team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharma/biotech/healthcare cold chain experience.
- Temperature monitoring devices, validated shippers, and qualification protocols.
- Knowledge of regulatory storage/transport expectations.
- WMS/TMS/ERP integration experience.
- Lean/Six Sigma; Power BI/Tableau dashboard experience.
