Role: Senior Intellectual Property (IP) Counsel specializing in patent strategies for genome editing technologies, notably CRISPR-Cas9, supporting biotech R&D and pipeline development. Responsibilities: develop and manage global IP portfolios, draft and prosecute patent applications, advise on IP risks including FTO and infringement, negotiate licensing and collaboration agreements, and oversee IP litigation and dispute resolution. Provide strategic legal guidance to R&D, business, and legal teams; foster cross-functional collaboration; and lead outside counsel relationships. Requirements: J.D. or LL.M., admission to practice law in the U.S., USPTO registration, 8+ years' experience in patent law within life sciences or biotech, with expertise in patent prosecution, IP strategy, and analysis. Preferred: advanced degree (Ph.D./Master's) in molecular biology, chemistry, or related fields; experience with PTAB proceedings and gene editing platforms; strong leadership and negotiation skills.
