About The Role:
Senior Financial Analyst, R&D Finance. Partner with assigned R&D and Medical Affairs functions to support financial planning processes, program teams, and business needs.
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
- Support assigned functions/programs with financial and business planning analysis, reporting, and operations
- Create and/or update financial models to support decision-making for senior leaders and project teams
- Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual results; explain variances vs. budget/forecast
- Analyze departmental budgets; support forecasting and overall financial planning
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and Accounting
- Identify and deliver process/system simplification and operational efficiencies
- Perform ad-hoc analyses leading to problem solving and actionable recommendations
- Collect and analyze financial information to track progress against financial goals
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- BS/BA in Finance/Business Administration/Accounting or related field + 6+ years financial analysis (pharma/biotech plus); client-facing finance experience preferred; financial system experience preferred OR
- Masterβs degree or MBA + 4+ years similar experience
- Understanding of key business drivers; strong grasp of relevant processes/procedures/systems and downstream impacts
- Proficient with tools/processes for functional work; ability to work in a team
- Interest in R&D/drug development and impact on patientsβ lives
- Knowledge of Finance/Accounting best practices; life sciences/pharma experience preferred
- R&D/drug development finance experience a plus
- Strong computer skills; analytical, problem-solving, communication skills; detail-oriented with ability to see the broader picture
- Strong project management; meet multiple deadlines accurately/efficiently
- Strong Excel/financial modeling tools; working knowledge of financial planning/control processes
- GAAP/accounting knowledge preferred; hands-on close process knowledge
- Ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely; client-facing/embedded role interest
