Sr Engineer Clean Utilities
What You Will Do
- Report to the Sr Manager of ARI Facilities & Engineering Utilities.
- Provide system ownership of clean utility systems at ARI to support safe, compliant, effective, efficient, and cost-appropriate utility operations, and meet Amgen’s 2027 sustainability commitments.
Responsibilities / Key Responsibilities
- Clean Utility System Ownership: Serve as technical SME; monitor performance/reliability/compliance; troubleshoot and support investigations; develop/maintain engineering standards, specifications, and system documentation.
- Asset Management and CMMS (Maximo): Lead asset lifecycle management; develop/optimize preventive maintenance strategies in Maximo; maintain asset records/equipment hierarchies/job plans/documentation; analyze maintenance/reliability data to reduce downtime.
- Capital Projects and Engineering Support: Lead utility-related capital projects from design through commissioning/turnover; develop technical requirements and specifications; support startup/commissioning/qualification/operational readiness; coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and external contractors.
- Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Support change controls, deviations, investigations, and CAPA; ensure GMP and site-standard compliance; implement improvements for reliability/efficiency/sustainability; support regulatory inspections, audits, and validation as engineering representative.
Basic Qualifications
- High school/GED + 10 years OR Associate’s + 8 years OR Bachelor’s + 4 years OR Master’s + 2 years OR Doctorate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Utilities plant experience (especially water systems); GMP experience; strong written/verbal communication; engineering principles/methods knowledge; basic cGMP knowledge for biotech products.
