About The Role
- Lead and advance enterprise portfolio strategy, optimization, analytics, and resource planning across R&D.
- Serve as strategic advisor to executive leadership with data-driven portfolio insights for prioritization, investment, allocation, and long-range planning.
- Lead complex portfolio planning and analytics; develop and implement portfolio optimization frameworks, forecasting models, scenario analyses, and decision-support capabilities.
- Partner with R&D, Finance, Program Management, Business Development, and Executive Leadership; serve as enterprise subject matter expert for portfolio planning systems, analytics, and resource optimization; drive continuous improvement.
Your Contributions (include, But Are Not Limited To)
- Lead development/execution of portfolio strategy, prioritization, and optimization frameworks.
- Own multi-year compound flow model and transition probability models for portfolio forecasting.
- Lead executive trade-off discussions; evaluate opportunities/risks/scenarios to maximize portfolio value.
- Design quantitative models for forecasting, probability of success, timelines, and resource planning.
- Lead enterprise resource planning/capacity forecasting; align portfolio objectives with capacity and budget assumptions.
- Own portfolio planning systems (e.g., Planisware); establish data standards/governance and improve analytics/reporting.
- Develop dashboards and board-level materials; support business development analyses; lead governance forums; mentor team.
Requirements
- BS/BA + 14+ years, OR Masterβs + 12+ years, OR PhD/PharmD/MBA/advanced degree + 10+ years (relevant pharma/biotech/healthcare/consulting/portfolio/strategy experience).
- Deep drug development knowledge; expertise in portfolio strategy, governance, forecasting, valuation, probability of success, scenario planning, and portfolio optimization.
- Advanced Planisware or comparable platform experience; experience implementing/optimizing portfolio planning and analytics.
- Strong executive communication, influence, stakeholder management, and analytical/decision-making skills; ability to lead in matrixed orgs; ability to mentor.
Benefits (as stated)
- Annual base salary: $226,500β$309,000; annual bonus (target 35%); equity long-term incentive eligibility; retirement plan match, paid vacation/holidays/personal days, caregiver/parental and medical leave, and medical/dental/vision coverage per plan terms.
