Role Overview
- Own where LillyDirect Payment Operations goes next (next month through next 18 months), building the roadmap for future payment services and capabilities.
- Drive initiatives to improve authorization rates, lower processing cost, and prepare Payment Operations for legislative, regulatory, competitive, or internal changes.
- Ensure audit readiness for Payment Services.
- Own B2B vendor contracts (Adyen and future PSPs), including negotiation and renewal.
- Serve as primary payments point of contact for international affiliates as LillyDirect expands globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Build roadmap for future payment services and capabilities (e.g., ACH, PayPal, BNPL, second PSP, international expansion).
- Drive payment innovation to improve authorization rates, lower costs, expand payment method coverage.
- Monitor and assess external changes (legislation, regulation, market/competitive landscape).
- Monitor internal changes (policy shifts, CSH priorities, org changes) and drive updates to ensure audit readiness.
- Contribute operational and financial perspective to payment tool optimization decisions.
- Lead B2B vendor strategy and contracts (negotiation, renewal, performance management).
- Partner cross-functionally with Tech@Lilly and Platform Experience to embed automation; represent payment ops in product/tech roadmap decisions; work with Customer Care, Finance, Platform Experience, and Tech@Lilly on initiatives.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree.
- 5+ years in direct-to-consumer payments operations, customer solutions delivery, or customer solutions transformation.
- Experience with vendor and contract negotiation and management.
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly does not sponsor visas.
Additional Skills & Preferences
- Knowledge of payment flows (card processing, settlements, disputes, chargebacks, reconciliation).
- Familiarity with enterprise payment providers and payment orchestration.
- Experience building/improving operations; strong analytical skills.
- Exposure to international payment flows/cross-border expansion.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and/or Vertex (tax compliance).
- Experience with fraud prevention/underwriting/risk monitoring; PCI-DSS familiarity.
- Experience with shared services/Global Business Solutions; monitoring relevant regulatory/legislative change.

- Preference: Indianapolis or San Francisco. Open to remote with travel.
