Reports to: Concord Plant Site Head
Main Purpose and Objectives
The Senior Director, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental), is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the HSE programs and systems for the Concord Plant manufacturing site. Provides HSE oversight for Manufacturing, environmental control, utilities, waste operations, lab facilities, emergency response, and administrative facilities. Provides functional HSE leadership, direction, and governance to the site HSE organization and connects the site team to Corporate HSE to ensure alignment and support regulatory inspections. Member of the Concord Plant Site Lead Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide program ownership for the HSE Management System to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and Lilly Global standards.
- Define and support site HSE priorities and roadmap; develop/manage HSE business initiatives, HSE Plan, and HSE metrics.
- Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are continually met.
- Benchmark best practices across the network and externally.
- Develop future management and technical leadership for site and network/global roles.
- Escalate critical environmental, health, and safety issues appropriately.
Requirements
- Experience leading HSE programs and HSE management systems in a manufacturing setting (e.g., pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, food and beverage).
- Experience implementing/managing environmental compliance programs.
- Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies on EHS requirements.
- Bachelorβs degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; 10β15 years in a leadership role managing HSE teams/programs.
- Ability to work closely with Site Leadership to align corporate objectives and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Experience building talented, engaged, high-performing teams and a strong safety culture.
