Senior Director, HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) — Concord Plant
Reports to: Concord Plant Site Head
Main Purpose: Develop, implement, and maintain HSE programs/systems for the Concord Plant manufacturing site. Ensure productivity and development of HSE employees, resolve health/safety/environmental issues, and maintain compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements. Provide HSE oversight across manufacturing, environmental control, utilities and waste, labs, emergency response, and administrative facilities. Provide functional HSE leadership and governance, connect site HSE with Corporate HSE, and support systems for regulatory inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the HSE Management System to ensure compliance with regulations and Lilly Global Health/Safety/Environment standards.
- Define/support site HSE priorities and roadmap; develop/manage HSE initiatives, HSE Plan, and HSE metrics.
- Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met.
- Benchmark best practices across the network and externally.
- Develop future management and technical leadership for site and network/global roles.
- Escalate critical environmental, health, and safety issues as appropriate.
Requirements:
- 10–15+ years leading HSE programs/management systems in manufacturing (pharma/specialty chemical/food & beverage).
- Experience implementing and managing environmental compliance programs.
- Experience interfacing with environmental, health, and safety regulators.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Ability to align with site/corporate objectives and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Experience building high-performing HSE teams and cultures for safety.
