Head of Operational Excellence (OpEx) — GCO (EPIX)
How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Establish OpEx vision, operating model, org structure, and multi-year roadmap; build/mentor an enterprise transformation team.
- Partner with EPIX leads to embed operational discipline across the clinical lifecycle.
- Standardize end-to-end processes (planning, forecasting, feasibility, budgeting, execution, enrollment management, closeout) and harmonize “way of working” across Innovative and Generics.
- Define/manage KPIs tied to quality timelines, predictability, vendor performance, patient/site experience, and cost; design dashboards and performance reviews.
- Lead continuous improvement across planning/execution/governance/vendor management; drive change management, training, and technology enablement.
- Ensure readiness for key milestones; build scalable operating structures for new modalities/complexity; align with digital/AI-ML teams; oversee GCO resource allocation and governance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience (Required): 12+ years in Clinical Operations/Operational Excellence/R&D Strategy or transformation; enterprise operating models/governance/performance systems; proven cycle-time/quality/efficiency improvements; KPI/metrics dashboard expertise; influence senior leaders in global matrix; lead teams/large-scale operational change; routine domestic & international travel.
- Preferred: experience across large pharma and high-growth mid-sized pharma; predictive analytics/digital AI-ML/scenario modeling; Lean Six Sigma or advanced continuous improvement.
