Role Summary

Sr. Director β€šΓ„Γ¬ Global Patient Safety Data Sciences leads GPS-wide systems, technology, automation and data reporting/analytics strategy, collaborating with GPS, Lilly Research Laboratories and IT to understand needs, develop integrated strategies, and oversee execution. Partners with related functions to influence GPS needs, access expertise and resources, and share learnings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead GPS Safety Data Sciences Team: manage operating priorities and resources; support development of operational systems; supervise, coach, and recognize staff; recruit and retain technical expertise; assist with business planning and staffing targets.
  • Lead GPS Technology and Analytics Strategy: own automation, technology and analytics strategies; ensure cross-functional input and efficient implementation; benchmark and apply process improvements and data insights; build capabilities for future GPS state.
  • Establish and Maintain Relationships: liaise with GPS leaders worldwide to assess needs and align on solutions; partner with IT and Quality on technology strategies and system support; collaborate with Clinical and Statistics to influence GPS needs; build cross-company partnerships to leverage learnings and resources.
  • Assurance of Drug Safety Regulatory Compliance: maintain safety systems for regulatory compliance; provide effective staff training; adapt policies as required; support inspections through coordination and participation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelorβ€šΓ„Γ΄s degree in health science, information technology or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in drug development support (e.g., Safety, Clinical, Project Management, IT).
  • 5+ years of prior people management experience.
  • 2+ years in Pharmacovigilance.
  • Experience implementing small and large systems/technology projects.

Other Information / Preferences

  • Prior systems ownership and implementation experience.
  • Experience applying process automation and analytics cross-functionally.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to drive broad change; strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural virtual global environment; strong verbal and written English communication; solid computer skills.
  • Availability to travel as required; based in Indianapolis, IN (relocation provided); remote work considered with 50%+ travel to Indianapolis or other locations.
