Sr. Developer (Informatics) β€” LIMS/ELN platform development, scientific data integrations, and AI-enabled capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Own design/development of server-side plugins, integrations, and workflows on LIMS/ELN platforms (Sapio preferred) using Java and Python.
- Architect and build AI/GenAI-enabled solutions (LLM agents, RAG pipelines, prompt-engineered workflows) to streamline R&D informatics.
- Develop end-to-end data pipelines and integrations across scientific instruments, LIMS/ELN, and enterprise data platforms (data modeling, transformation, data quality validation).
- Serve as technical lead (architecture approach and code reviews).
- Partner with scientists, lab operations, and product owners to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Design digital solutions to streamline day-to-day lab operations and support data-driven workflows.
- Evaluate and implement COTS platform capabilities (Sapio, Benchling, Dotmatics).
- Design/develop REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware for interoperability across R&D systems.
- Apply a data-first approach to analyze datasets, identify data quality issues, build dashboards/reporting, and recommend actions.
- Contribute to platform modernization (cloud migration, containerized deployments).

This role requires
- Bachelor’s in CS/Bioinformatics/Life Sciences or related field + 3+ years software development supporting life sciences R&D/lab informatics.
- Proficiency in Java (server-side, plugin architectures) and Python (scripting, pipelines, webhooks/automation).
- Experience with Sapio, Benchling, or Dotmatics (Sapio preferred).
- Proven AI/GenAI experience (LLM agents, prompt engineering, RAG, AI workflow automation); preferred AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Claude/Anthropic APIs, OpenAI APIs).
- Preferred: instrument integrations (TetraScience/direct interfaces), lab automation scheduling (e.g., HighRes Cellario), custom device drivers via APIs/SDKs.
- Plus: Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions); data analytics/visualization tools (Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, Jupyter).
