What You Will Do
- Join the Digital Process and Systems Analysis group to provide data infrastructure, platforms, and analytics supporting engineering teams across Amgen’s network.
- Contribute to biologics drug-substance modeling and digitization of tech-transfer workflows to enable early insights and phase-appropriate decision-making.
- Digitize drug substance technology workflows to improve technology transfer timelines and right-first-time success.
- Evaluate and improve digital assets; lead solutions for modeling, data pipelines, and visualizations.
- Define and track performance improvements.
Responsibilities
- Leverage tech-transfer and process-modeling knowledge to implement digital technologies.
- Provide digital product ownership for tech-transfer digital applications (initially DS network process-modeling expansion).
- Drive change management to integrate applications into product teams.
- Develop FAIR data products for tech transfer/NPI.
- Enable AI agentic workflows for DST modeling assets.
- Collaborate to build/integrate modeling assets into DST business processes.
- Make cost-benefit/forecasting/scenario recommendations and present findings to stakeholders.
- Recommend strategy for process monitoring, data engineering, analytic platforms, and analysis plans.
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate
OR Master’s + 2 years Data Science/Engineering
OR Bachelor’s + 4 years
OR Associate’s + 8 years
OR High school/GED + 10 years
Preferred Qualifications
- MS/doctorate in engineering/science with data science capability.
- 3+ years in biotechnology (process engineer/scientist/data scientist).
- Agile; Databricks; Python/SQL; AI tools (ChatGPT/Codex/GenieCode); React; BI tools (Spotfire/Tableau/Power BI).
- AI app development for process development; cell-culture/harvest/purification scale-up modeling; digital tools for analytical problem solving; written/verbal communication; leadership.
