Job Summary
- Partner with department managers to plan, procure, and source materials, equipment, and services for a multi-product bulk vaccine manufacturing facility.
- Serve as the bridge between internal and external business partners to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of high-quality goods and services.
Essential Functions
- Identify and recommend suppliers; analyze bids and supplier operations to determine most economic cost consistent with quality and delivery.
- Provide leadership, direction, and development to department staff.
- Facilitate contract requests; negotiate, create, and manage contracts with key suppliers.
- Develop and improve procurement methods while safeguarding the integrity of the procurement process.
- Negotiate terms/pricing; collect/analyze/summarize information and trends for reporting.
- Source raw materials, reagents, media, standard supply and lab supplies.
- Create and manage purchase orders for inventory, capital equipment, services, and general supplies.
- Support purchasing specifications development from technical data and company requirements.
- Conduct cost analyses for initial/continued procurement.
- Liaison with suppliers on requirements, non-conformance, delivery, and invoice issues.
- Assist supplier quality audits as needed.
- Develop supplier consolidation, cost reduction, and inventory reduction programs.
- Conduct annual supplier reviews (reliability, risk mitigation, financial stability, capacity).
- Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley and other agency audits; process change controls/deviations.
- Ensure SAP supplier data integrity; create/revise SOPs; support departmental/company projects.
Minimum Education, Experience, Skills
- Bachelorβs degree in Business or supply chain related field.
- 5β7 years procurement experience (preferably biopharmaceutical).
- People manager experience preferred.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; strong analytical skills; detail oriented.
- SAP experience preferred.
