Role Summary

Sr. Associate Research Scientist II in the BioAnalytics Analytical Research group. Responsible for independently designing and executing analytical methods for new projects and investigations of licensed products. Work under general supervision, contribute to the team supporting R&D projects, analyze and interpret data, present data to cross-functional teams, and participate in development and validation of new analytical techniques following cGMP.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine to technically diverse testing and analysis using modern instrumental analytical techniques (e.g., Circular Dichroism, Capillary electrophoresis, HPLC/UPLC/GC/IC, MALS, FFF, particle analysis, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, IEF, FT-IR).
  • Develop, qualify/validate analytical methods; identify literature techniques and adapt for use in the laboratory; develop new methods for analyte identification and quantification.
  • Provide accurate technical/GXP review of others’ work and interpret trends in data.
  • Perform data analysis and publish reports.
  • Maintain strong scientific understanding of test methods and intermediates/products tested.

Qualifications

  • Required: BS with 5+ years of experience or MS with 3+ years of experience in a relevant field (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Toxicology).

Skills

  • Experience with modern instrumental analytical techniques listed above; ability to modify standard approaches and adopt new technology; strong communication with cross-department teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; self-starter with strong judgment; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail; organized, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups; proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education

  • Educational degrees must be relevant to the position (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Toxicology).

Additional Requirements

  • Work is performed in a clinical and/or laboratory environment; exposure to biological fluids and chemicals; requires PPE.
  • Physical demands include varying hours of sitting, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and fine motor tasks; vision requirements as described.
