Role Summary
Spring 2026 co-op position on the Immunology team, focusing on screening and validation of Prime Editing strategies in immune-related indications. Work with human immune cells to support CAR-T immunology projects and gene editing studies. Ideal for a candidate pursuing cell and molecular biology with interest in translating research toward potential therapeutics.
Responsibilities
- Cell Culture & Functional Assays
- Perform primary human cell culture using aseptic technique
- Conduct program-specific cell-based functional assays, including flow cytometry
- Process in vivo samples for downstream analysis
- Molecular Biology & Gene Editing
- Extract genomic DNA, perform digital PCR (dPCR), and prepare samples for next-generation DNA sequencing
- Assist in Prime Editing experiments and downstream molecular analysis
- Data Analysis & Collaboration
- Design and plan experiments with scientific rigor
- Analyze and interpret data, contributing to team discussions
- Document results in an ELN, and present findings in team meetings
Qualifications
- Required: B.S. candidate in Cell & Molecular Biology or a related major
- Required: Basic understanding of cell and molecular biology
- Required: Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Required: Scientific curiosity, attention to detail, and excellent record-keeping skills
- Required: Passionate about human disease research and motivated to help patients
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with aseptic technique and cell culture
- Preferred: Experience with basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., DNA extraction, PCR)
- Preferred: Familiarity with flow cytometry or other immune-based assays
