Reporting to the Sr. Director, Pricing & Contracting Strategy, the Specialty Lead of Pricing & Contracting Strategy oversees, defines, and designs short- and long-term pricing & contracting strategies for a portfolio of Specialty products. Serves as both a people leader and individual contributor, leading strategic workstreams and a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach a team of (currently 3) direct reports; serve as an individual contributor on high-priority workstreams
- Provide strategic guidance to ensure effective stakeholder/senior-leader communication
- Define and design pricing & contracting strategies for GSKβs Specialty portfolio
- Own and be accountable for portfolio remit (scope, prioritization, governance, delivery of objectives)
- Communicate portfolio-level strategies and impacts
- Support pipeline and product launch pricing and contracting strategies
- Monitor contract performance; inform on business state and competitive actions/trends
- Partner with relevant stakeholders for tactical execution
- Partner with brand marketing and brand market access for strategic/tactical alignment
- Shape annual business planning for strategic customer engagement (pricing, contracting guidelines, operations)
- Develop business cases for contract review/approval (with legal, brand marketing, market access, finance)
- Collaborate to ensure enablers for key customer/environmental strategies are in place
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs Degree
- 7+ years relevant pharmaceutical experience (Market Access, Pricing, Contract Analytics, Brand Marketing, Market Research, Finance, etc.)
- 3+ years navigating payer/provider/legislative landscape and using pharmaceutical marketing competences (segmentation, insight, positioning, mix)
- Experience with buy-and-bill drugs, including ASP dynamics
- Travel: 10β15%
- Hybrid: 2β3 days/week onsite in Philadelphia, PA (FMC Building) or Durham, NC
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA; leadership experience
- Experience building payer/segment-specific insights for brand planning
- Combine quantitative and qualitative insights to explain market access/brand drivers
- Corporate finance fundamentals; specialty channel/pricing/reimbursement expertise
- Experience hiring/managing third-party vendors
- Teach-it level understanding of provider reimbursement dynamics (e.g., ASP, NCR)
- Teach-it level US market access knowledge (PBMs, plans, providers, pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, ASOCs, mandated pricing, analytics)
- Experience with matrixed contract approval processes and partnering with Legal/Compliance/Contract Operations
- Experience in Specialty (area determined by organizational need)
