Overall Purpose:
Frontline specialty sales role to launch and grow a product in the ophthalmic presbyopia market, providing territory disease-state education and driving adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with targeted physicians (Optometrists & Ophthalmologists); develop accounts.
- Exceed sales performance goals and key productivity metrics across the territory.
- Use analytics to prioritize customer engagements and increase reach/frequency to drive product trial and utilization.
- Understand ophthalmology/optometry practice workflows and how they impact prescribing and pull-through.
- Demonstrate clinical eye-care knowledge (ocular anatomy, disease state, products, office treatment patterns).
- Set and execute actionable business plans aligned to territory impact.
- Maintain high standards of ethics and compliance; ensure PDMA compliance and follow all company/industry guidelines.
- Maximize available resources; adapt quickly to new market information.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (district managers, marketing, medical affairs, sales ops, inside sales, training) and share best practices.
Additional Dimensions / Work Requirements:
- Field-based (remote); must live within the assigned territory.
- Travel required within/around territory for meetings, conventions, and headquarters in San Diego; up to 40β50% in some territories.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in business/marketing or related field.
- 2+ years of pharmaceutical sales with a proven success track record (required).
- Proven pharmaceutical launch experience (strongly preferred).
- Eye care experience (strongly preferred).
Compensation:
- $110,000β$140,000 per year; incentive bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits.
