Responsibilities:
- Educate physicians and other health care professionals about Jazz Pharmaceuticals products and approved indications.
- Achieve individual sales goals and productivity objectives.
- Organize and facilitate meetings for the exchange of medical and product information per company policies and applicable regulatory/legal requirements.
- Analyze the assigned territory to understand prescribing and decision processes and differences from national trends.
- Use all available resources to educate HCP and staff on products.
- Manage patient flow challenges from prescription to insurance criteria to patient access.
- Identify key physicians, health care providers, and organizations within the assigned territory.
- Prepare a business plan and territory tactical plan; implement approved plans within timelines.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with physicians and other HCPs.
- Work with cross-functional MSL, Managed Market, and Access & Reimbursement teams to meet needs of physicians, HCPs, and patients compliantly.
- Present a positive, professional image consistent with ethical pharmaceutical marketing policies.
- Comply with applicable federal/state regulations and laws.
- Perform activities within allocated budget.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Four-year college/university degree or equivalent (required); post-graduate business school study/training (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical sales experience (preferred).
- At least 2 years specialist sales experience (preferred: neurology, pulmonary, psychiatry, or sleep).
- Orphan/rare disease sales experience (beneficial).
- Preferred relationships with hospitals, sleep labs, neurologists, pulmonologists, and sleep specialists.
- Preferred: hospital/account-based experience with closed access account navigation.
- Preferred: sleep/CNS therapeutic sales; retail and specialty pharmacy experience.
- Helpful: REMS/hub or central pharmacy experience.
- Desired: strong knowledge of products/competitors/disease states; payer landscape and managed care criteria.
- Beneficial: launch planning/execution experience.
- Required: excellent communication, interpersonal, planning/organizational skills; self-motivation and ability to excel in a team environment.
- Ability to travel up to 75%.
