Role Summary

Specialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representative – Primary Care Specialty role covering Cerritos, CA and surrounding areas. The Senior role acts as the primary customer contact, promoting Amgen products and implementing marketing strategy as led by the District Manager. This position focuses on providing clinical knowledge of products to medical professionals and achieving territory sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and communicate clinical and economic benefits to medical professionals
  • Lead to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, implementing planned programs, coordinating medical educational events, and meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service accounts, ensure product access, resolve reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities, develop territory plans with the District Manager
  • Maintain passion for the products and sustain that passion throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and serving patients
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and pursue continuous learning to grow in the role
  • Adapt to disease state awareness and changes in industry, regulatory, and competition to deliver results

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate’s degree with 4 years of sales experience OR high school diploma/GED with 6 years of sales experience
  • Basic Qualifications Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of sales or healthcare/scientific field experience OR Associate degree with 6 years of sales or healthcare/scientific field experience OR high school diploma/GED with 8 years of sales or healthcare/scientific field experience
  • Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of sales experience in pharma/biotech/medical device; product or hospital sales in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases; local market knowledge and established territory relationships; Chinese language skills; Life Sciences or Business Administration degree; adaptability with core competencies
