Role Summary

Specialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representative - Primary Care - Los Angeles (South), CA. Territory covers Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Torrance, CA. This role focuses on delivering clinical knowledge to medical professionals, promoting Amgen products, and navigating the payer environment as directed by the District Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate utilization
  • Lead territory sales by delivering branded messages, conducting planned programs, coordinating medical education, and achieving or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement
  • Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, tailoring discussions to customer needs, ensuring product access, addressing reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze sales activities, perform territory analysis, and develop territory plans with the District Manager
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and grow as a representative
  • Demonstrate passion for products and sustain brand momentum throughout the sales cycle while serving patients

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications (Specialty Representative): Bachelor’s Degree; OR Associate’s degree and 4 years of Sales experience; OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience
  • Basic Qualifications (Senior Specialty Representative): Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field not sales related; OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field not sales related; OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field not sales related
  • Preferred Qualifications: 1–3 years of sales, marketing, or clinical experience (pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred); product or hospital sales experience across multiple medical specialties; strong communication, storytelling, and persuasion skills; hunter’s mindset; resilience; entrepreneurial spirit; Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration; local market knowledge
