This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. Geography: South Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tucson, Yuma.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; perform post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and achieving win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, market landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, and products; share market intelligence with in-field team/brand/sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business preferred; relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- Required experience in lieu of bachelor’s: at least 5 years; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven selling success and solid presentation skills; adapts selling approach; innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated influence/role model; collaborative leadership; peer coaching.
- Documented success in leadership/support roles with increased responsibility; leverages findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: therapeutic area sales success; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (verbal/written for non-English countries).
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities; may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and tools; strategic/critical thinking; matrix-effective.
- Driving personal/company vehicle or powered handling equipment; valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
