Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Rheumatology - San Diego, CA. Field-based role focused on executing brand strategy and tactics, managing territory and accounts, and delivering sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics, optimize coverage and frequency to key customers, and maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, market landscape, competitors, and share market intelligence with in-field team and brand team to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition, identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required
- At least five years of relevant industry experience, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required if no bachelor’s
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment
- Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt selling approach to customer style
- Influences others and builds collaborative partnerships; demonstrates leadership and peer coaching
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to develop sales strategies; understands how to leverage findings for sales planning
- Preferred: proven sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements and maintain credentials; valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug screening
