Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Rheumatology - Jacksonville, FL. Field-based role serving Jacksonville, Gainesville and surrounding areas; responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, managing territory and targeted accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance while adhering to AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed defined goals.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, disease, product, clinical and sales insights with in-field and brand teams to align and adapt strategies.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and cultivate disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience required.
- Alternative: five (5) years of related experience with at least three (3) years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED accepted with requisite experience.
- Demonstrates deep scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking.
- Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to identify customer behavior and adapt selling approach; contributes ideas for the organization and adapts to change.
- Influences others and is viewed as a credible, collaborative resource; demonstrates leadership and positive behavior in changing environments.
- History of increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to inform sales strategies.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (verbal/written).
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities and organizations within the territory; maintain good standing or be eligible to obtain credentials.
