Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Rheumatology - Birmingham, AL. Field-based role serving the Alabaster to Florence geography, focused on executing brand strategy and driving sales performance while placing the patient at the center of AbbVie’s efforts.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and close on calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet metrics, optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gain and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and disease/product knowledge with in-field teams and management to optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required
- Equivalent experience: at least five years in lieu of degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
- Proven track record in selling with strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and respond to changes
- Influences others, credible role model, advocates for collaboration across district and matrix teams
- Demonstrated leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; able to develop sales strategies from findings
- Preferred: proven sales success in therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing; English proficiency
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and maintain good standing or eligibility
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as required; may require driving
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; works effectively in a matrix environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; access to personal or company vehicle
