Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - South Nashville, TN/Murfreesboro, TN. Field-based role requiring residence within a reasonable distance from the primary city; talent hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance with patient-centered focus, within AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on every sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Gain and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease areas, products, clinical and sales expertise with in-field teams to align and optimize brand strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
- Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
- Deep scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource; strong business acumen and strategic thinking
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; develop sales strategies and innovative solutions
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; influence others and build collaborative partnerships
- Leadership experience and a track record of increased responsibility at district/region levels
- Preferred: Proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency
- Must satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
- HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements
