Role Summary
This field-based role requires t live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance with patient-centered focus and adherence to all laws and AbbVie policies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Aspire to serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements with customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, and market dynamics; share market intelligence with in-field team and brand team to optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: Relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree (minimum five years) with three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field.
- Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Required: Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
- Required: Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills; able to operate effectively in a matrix environment; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities; anticipates changes.
- Required: Influences others and is a credible, respected resource; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team.
- Required: Leads by example with positive behaviors and peer coaching; demonstrated leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels.
- Preferred: Proven track record of sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency.
Additional Requirements
- Required: Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials.
- Required: Driving a personal auto or company car; valid driver’s license; ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
