This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and complying with AbbVie’s code, policies, and applicable laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close each sales call with logical, reasonable calls to action.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships; achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute call plans meeting call metrics and optimizing coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Maintain deep understanding of customers, territory landscape, competitors, disease/product/clinical expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and identify/develop/maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- Typically: 5+ years relevant industry experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Leadership success; strong presentation skills; business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; proficient business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success in therapeutic area; commercial pharma experience (physician/account selling, training, managed care, or marketing); in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; expert resource.
- Preferred: English proficiency for non-English-speaking countries.
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements; must be in good standing/eligible for credentials.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
