Job Description (Field-based)
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while centering the patient and complying with AbbVie policies and applicable laws.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and consistently secure logical calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs to build trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics; optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease/product/clinical/sales expertise) to align strategy and anticipate changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify/develop/maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent experience required.
- Required: at least 5 years relevant industry experience (3+ years in pharma/health/science preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach; influence in a matrix environment; leadership/peer coaching.
- Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, managed health care, or marketing experience; English proficiency (for non-English countries).
- Essential: satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements; valid driver’s license; pass drug screening; meet safe-driving requirements.
