This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships by solving customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, with patient-centered efforts and compliance with AbbVie policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and drive logical, reasonable calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence to align brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
- Alternatively: 5+ years relevant industry experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred) and a high school diploma/GED.
- Proven leadership and presentation skills; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach; effective in a matrix environment.

Preferred:
- Sales success in relevant therapeutic areas.
- Physician/account-based selling; training; managed healthcare or marketing experience.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized expert resource.
- English proficiency (for non-English speaking countries).

Requirements:
- Satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements; maintain eligibility and good standing (including possible background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe-driving requirements.
