Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - North Savannah, GA. Field-based role focused on executing brand strategy and tactics in the assigned territory to maximize short and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within AbbVie’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed established goals.
- Develop pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
- Build trusted relationships with customers by proactively addressing needs and challenges to reach win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers, maximizing access and sales opportunities.
- Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and disease/product knowledge with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and cultivate disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
- Operate a personal or company vehicle in the course of duties; manage related logistics and safety considerations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
- Five (5) years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3)+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; develop sales strategies from findings.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; influence others and build collaborative partnerships.
- Leads by example with positive behaviors and coaching; demonstrated leadership in district/region roles.
- Preferred: Proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing preferred; English proficiency.
- Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and organizations in the territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and meet safe driving requirements.
