Field-based role—candidates should live within a reasonable distance of the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; perform post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and drive appropriate calls to action.
- Build trusted customer relationships; identify customer needs to achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize customer coverage/frequency.
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, and disease/product/clinical expertise; share market intelligence with field/brand/sales leadership.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience.
- In lieu of degree: at least 5 years’ experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred) plus a high school diploma/GED.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and business-tool proficiency.
- Proven sales success; strong presentation skills; effective in matrix environments; strategic and critical thinking.
- Preferred: sales performance success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (as applicable).
- Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
