Field-based role. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and close calls to action.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and driving win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, competitors, accounts, disease/product/clinical expertise) to align strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; or relevant equivalent experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years of experience (3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred) plus high school diploma/GED.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic/critical thinking.
- Proven selling success and solid presentation skills; effective in a matrix environment; leadership and peer coaching.
- Preferred: sales performance success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (where applicable).
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities; maintain good standing/eligibility.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
