This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships; solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance; place the patient at the center of efforts; operate in accordance with AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluation to improve performance; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close sales.
- Serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease/product/clinical and sales expertise) to align strategy and anticipate changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify/develop/maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ experience (3+ years in pharma/health/science preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking.
- Proven sales success; strong presentation skills; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales performance success in therapeutic area; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- HCIR credentialing required to gain/maintain facility entry (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
