Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Psychiatry for Houston South, TX. This field-based role requires living within a reasonable distance from the primary city and will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. The incumbent is responsible for delivering sales performance, meeting brand KPIs, and building trusted customer relationships with healthcare providers in the assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed defined goals.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and market dynamics; share market intelligence with in-field team and brand/ sales management to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent industry experience; in lieu of a bachelor’s, at least five years of experience with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
- Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Required: Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approaches; proven track record of sales success and solid presentation skills; ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
- Required: Influences others and builds collaborative partnerships; leads by example and demonstrates positive behaviors in challenging environments; documented leadership experience at district/region levels.
- Required: Valid driver’s license and ability to meet safe driving requirements; able to drive a personal auto or company vehicle.
- Preferred: Track record of sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency for non-English speaking markets.
- Preferred: Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain access to facilities and organizations within the territory.
- Preferred: Additional credentials may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as required.
