This role is field-based. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and serve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center and operating in accordance with AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans; execute post-call evaluations to improve sales performance; handle objections to drive logical, reasonable calls to action and close on sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships and win-win agreements by proactively addressing customer needs, expectations, and challenges.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments, accounts, disease, product/clinical/sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s: at least 5 years’ experience with 3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success; solid presentation skills; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; proficient use of business tools.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer behavior; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; English proficiency for non-English speaking countries.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for facility access (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
