Job Description

Execute brand strategy and tactics in field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and customer needs solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives; execute post-call evaluation to improve performance; handle objections and gain logical, reasonable calls to action to close on sales calls.
- Build trusted relationships and win-win agreements by proactively serving customer needs and challenges.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise) to optimize brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate the value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business (preferred) OR relevant equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years’ experience (3+ years preferred) in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED.
- Proven leadership success; solid presentation skills; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales performance track record in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; deep scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge.
- Preferred: English proficiency (non-English speaking countries).
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements for assigned territory (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting).
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
