Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - Eatontown, NJ. Field-based role; responsible for executing brand strategy and achieving sales performance within the assigned territory, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within all laws and AbbVie policies. Role requires building strong customer relationships and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and close calls effectively.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships to achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to maximize access and sales opportunities with key customers; optimize coverage and frequency.
- Maintain understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, and share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
- Drive a personal or company vehicle or operate powered equipment as part of daily activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
- Five or more years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approaches to customer style/behavior; develops sales strategies and creative solutions.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; credible, respected, and collaborative with peers and district/matrix teams.
- Proven leadership and ability to take on increased responsibility; preferred track record in sales within therapeutic areas; English proficiency.
- Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
