Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - Downriver, MI. Field-based role focusing on executing brand strategy and driving sales performance within a defined territory, while placing the patient at the center of the efforts and adhering to all laws and AbbVie policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans and post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and drive calls to action to close on sales calls.
  • Build trusted customer relationships, understand customer needs and challenges, and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gain and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, disease states, product, clinical and sales insights with in-field teams and brand management to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers and develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
  • Drive use of personal or company vehicle and operate related equipment as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent experience; if no degree, at least five years of related experience with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to adapt to customer styles and selling approaches; develop sales strategies based on findings.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; influence others and build collaborative partnerships.
  • Proven track record of leadership or increased responsibility in district/region roles preferred; English proficiency for non-English-speaking contexts.
  • Meets health care industry credentialing (HCIR) requirements for the territory; this may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and licenses.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; safe driving.
