Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - Dayton West, OH. Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on every sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
- Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s, with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking
- Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style/behavior; develop sales strategies and innovative solutions
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; credible, respected peer resource; strong collaboration with district colleagues and matrix team
- Leads by example; history of leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements
- Ability to travel adequately to cover territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings
- Driving a personal or company vehicle; may involve use of equipment
- Preferred: track record of sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency
- Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and maintain eligibility
- HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; candidate is responsible for satisfying all requirements
