Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - Columbus, GA. Field-based role within AbbVie, focusing on executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, managing the assigned territory and targeted accounts, and building trusted customer relationships to maximize short and long-term sales performance with patient-centered focus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
  • Handle objections and concerns effectively and secure action on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and establish win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, market landscape, competitors, and disease/therapy knowledge to align with in-field teams and brand plans.
  • Differentiates AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and develop disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
  • Drive use of a personal or company vehicle or equipment as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent industry experience in lieu of degree: at least five years total with three or more in pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approaches; capable of developing sales strategies from findings.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; credible, collaborative, and influential with peers and stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience and a track record of increased responsibility preferred.
  • Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities in the assigned territory; must maintain good standing/eligibility for credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
