Role Summary
Field-based Specialty Representative, Psychiatry – Charleston, WV. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships to maximize short- and long-term sales performance. Maintain patient-centered focus while adhering to AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed stated goals.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and concerns to close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that meets metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease areas, and product knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree is at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders; strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach; leverages findings to develop sales strategies; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities
- Provides impact with ideas for the organization; operates effectively in a matrix environment
- Influences others and is a credible, respected role model; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams
- Leads by example; demonstrates positive behaviors and peer coaching; documented success in leadership and increasing responsibility at district/region levels
- Preferred: proven track record of sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing preferred; English proficiency
- Essential: satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and maintain credentials; good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials
- HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; you are responsible for satisfying requirements
- Valid driver’s license: ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements
